How to promote your website

So you have just created a wonderful new website with FrontPage, and obviously want people to look at it. Maybe you have started your own business and online sales on the Internet! Whatever your site is about, you will want to promote it so that the right people find it.

There are many Tips, Tricks and Tools in this adventure, and we at www.vorburger.ch/kissfp/ have learnt a lot about it since KISSfp's initial start in Spring 1998. In this article, I want to share some of this knowledge we gained with you.

One common misconception of the Web is that you just have to publish your site somewhere, and people will come to you. But why should they? How can they find you? - You have to drive traffic to your site. One way to achieve this is by getting good rankings in search engines; the "higher" your site appears when somebody searches for your keywords, the more likely it is they will come to you.
